Hotel finders better add these descriptions into their hotels and motels search. There's a new kind of hotel that intends to make price-conscious, stylish travelers happy through ergonomically designed, tiny spaces. These lodgings have been dubbed "pod hotels". They basically sacrifice space and amenities, like staff, restaurants, and sometimes private bathrooms in exchange for an undeniably low cost. So, don't check tons of amenties on a hotel finder and expect to find a Pod on your list.

Pod hotels have been in Asia for decades, they've also infiltrated Europe and are beginning to make a statement in the U.S.

New York City's new Pod Hotel is cheap and stylish. Prices begin at $89 and go up to $139 whcich includes a private bath. These costs are certainly the lowest in a hotel finder since the current average hotel room cost in New York is $350. The stylish retro-designed rooms have iPod docking stations, dimmer-control lighting systems, free Wi-Fi access, and a semi-largish screen LCD TV. The room was that was featured on Yahoo! News was approximately 300 square feet.
