If you plan to vacation with your dog or cat, it is important to pick a hotel that welcomes pets. Pet friendly hotels are common. It seems that more and more people prefer to travel with their pets. Hence, several hotels are ready to accommodate their guests.

Since pets can create a mess, and some even destroy furniture, many pet friendly hotels have outlined specific guidelines.

1. Non-refundable Deposit: Even if your pet doesn't destroy the hotel room, several pet friendly hotels require each guest to pay an up-front deposit. Often times, the deposit is non-refundable. Thus, the hotel can thoroughly clean the room after your visit. A detail cleaning removes pet hair and dander, which can irritate future guests.

2. Doggy Park: Most pet friendly hotels feature an outside doggy park. This designated area allows your pet to run/play or relieve themselves. However, owners must clean up after their pets.

3. No Noise: If your pet likes to bark in the middle of the night, a pet friendly hotel may not be right for you. Although these hotels welcome animals, they cannot tolerate pets that disturb the peace.
